Levels of Play
Class I (select, league): Most competitive. Our league sponsors only one class I team at each age level. Season lasts August to February.
Class III (select, club): Competitive.Players are required to try out for this level. The season runs from September to November.
Class IV (house): Recreational. No try outs, Three Seasons ; Fall runs from September to November , Winter runs from November to March and Spring runs April to June.
Parent Participation
While Mersey Soccer has a professional coaching director and paid coaches, Mersey, like other local soccer clubs, absolutely depends on parent participation. Parents govern the club, take care of registrations, manage the teams, help maintain, set up and coordinate King Jr. Field, arrange tournaments, and much more. Consequently, club fees include a “non-participation” fee per family. Parents who volunteer 10 hours or more a year will receive credit on future Mersey fees. Many parents find that becoming involved, helping the club, and meeting other parents makes the game more enjoyable for them too.
